I know it's been a few days since I've visited this blog, but here I am now, ready to tell you about my new exercise program. You will recall I told you I was going to start an exercise program at the Y - beginning last week - welllllll---it didn't quite get done. I decided to wait until I had been evaluated by the trainers and set up on their new computerized machines, which ended today - so- come rain or come shine, I will begin my exercise program Monday. No sense in hurrying, huh? . The process of getting evaluated and the machines programmed entailed working ont the machines to determine my range and how much weight I can handle - Boy! I really am out of shape! It is going to take me a long time to get to where I can do much. One of the cool things about the computerized machines is that at the end of your session, when you log out it tells you how you did. I only spent a few minutes on each of the lower-body weight machines today and when I logged out it told me that I had lifted over 3,000 lbs I thought this was just a joke that the machines were playing, but when I added up the amount of weight I used for each machine and the number of reps I did - it came to that amount. I wasn't too tired until I found out how much work I'd done.
As I mentioned before, I am not an avid physical exercise person - and I have told myself that no matter how much exercise I do, I never release any weight and not many inches - well, since I've learned just how powerful my mind is and how much auto-suggestion plays in accomplishing anything, I am going to keep track of the inches and the weight and see how much I can knock off with a positive attitude and a belief that it will do these things. I have had excellent results in reducing my weight and keeping it off by using this method, so I believe that the exercise will do me a lot of good. I don't really need to release any more weight, but I won't gripe if I do.
I can hardly wait to firm up my underarms so that they don't flap in the breeze when I raise my arms, and I will finally get rid of the residue of the bulging stomach - most of it is gone, but what is left is due, I'm sure to lack of muscle control. I'll keep you posted - cause if it works for me, it sure will work for anyone else out there who is not an exercise proponent. Talk at ya later, Nida
